The
title is taken from a phrase often spoken by the main
characters
of the film, which embodies the central conflict, mainly
how to
organize ones life in a society that doesn't tolerate
diversity. The
inspiration for this film came from the website www.XL-pozytywnie.pl,
which serves as a vehicle for understanding the growing
population of
"large" people in Poland. The website is a
unique guide for the obese
covering a broad range of issues, from fashion to recreation,
as well
as physical mental and sexual health. The author of
the page, Marta,
faced her own struggle with obesity, which she describes
in her diary.
She produces an intimate account of a difficult adolescence,
struggle
to accept her own identity, and finally a rewarding
relationship with
the man she loves.
