OLD
AND MODERN POLISH TEMPLES

The
exhibition "Old and Modern Polish Temples"
offers an insight into the wealth of the Polish national
heritage by showing churches of various denominations
built within the former and present borders of Poland.
Erected
of the course of over a thousand years of Polish history,
the temples testify to tolerance - a concept deeply
embedded in our culture going back to the times when
Poland was a shelter for various unorthodox believers
from other parts of Europe.
The
exhibition evidences the relatively unknown multiethnic
character of the country and its longstanding presence
in the European culture - on the continent whose identity
was largely shaped by various religious denominations.
