SYNOPSIS:

about growing up. It looks at the trials and pitfalls of adolescence that can occur when moral support is lacking for a young teenager. The film follows Alicia, a shy and mild mannered girl who moves to a new school, only to be seduced by the wild and dangerous ways of a few of her peers. Her problems with her parents and sister send her right into the arms of Milena, another troubled teen who sells her body to men for new clothes and cell phones without any qualms. Soon enough, Milena has Alicia following in her footsteps, and we unfortunately watch as Alicia's youthful innocence is stripped from her. Partly a criticism of today's materialistic youth culture, Mall Girls examines the interplay between lacking familial values and grotesque consumerism. Roslaniec introduces us to a world where these girls look for any sort of sensation just to forget about their own loneliness.
